Jammu Police Arrest Drug Peddler in R.S. Pura; Heroin and Vehicle Seized at Chohala Naka
JAMMU, Feb 05, 2026 – In a persistent effort to eliminate drug trafficking and substance abuse under its jurisdiction, the R.S. Pura Police successfully apprehended a drug peddler and recovered 6.78 grams of Heroin (commonly known as Chita).
During a routine patrolling and specialized “naka” (checkpoint) operation established at Chohala, a police team led by PSI Vishal Singh, under the supervision of SHO Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar and the overall guidance of SP Headquarters Jammu and SDPO R.S. Pura, intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK02CM-1980.
Upon conducting a thorough search of the rider, identified as Vishal Kumar, son of Tarsem Lal and resident of Sidher, Suchetgarh, the illicit contraband was discovered and seized along with the vehicle.Following the recovery, the R.S. Pura Police registered FIR No. 28/2026 under Sections 8, 21, 22, and 60 of the NDPS Act.
The accused has been taken into custody, and a detailed investigation is currently underway to uncover further links in the local drug supply chain.
