Jammu Police and Food Safety Department Crack Down on Improper Transport of Non-Veg Items

JAMMU, JANUARY 03, 2026 — In a major initiative to protect public health and enforce strict compliance with food safety regulations, the Jammu Police, in collaboration with the Food Safety Department, conducted a routine inspection drive today.

During the operation, authorities intercepted a vehicle transporting non-vegetarian food items that lacked the mandatory insulation required by law, representing a significant violation of established safety standards. Following the discovery, the Food Safety Designated Officer was immediately summoned to the site to initiate legal proceedings and conduct a thorough on-site evaluation of the lapse.

The joint operation was led by Deputy Commissioner of Food Safety Madan Magotra and a Jammu Police team headed by SHO Bus Stand Inderpal Singh. The officials coordinated closely to ensure that the necessary legal actions were carried out according to established protocols.
