JAMMU, MARCH 16: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha presided over a landmark ceremony on Monday at the Central Sanskrit University in Kot Bhalwal, where he unveiled a bust of Maharaja Ranbir Singh and officially renamed the institution’s Jammu campus to ‘Maharaja Ranbir Singh Campus.’
Addressing a large gathering of scholars, officials, and students, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the nation owes a profound debt to the Maharaja for his transformative reforms and his role in forging a robust, thriving Jammu Kashmir. The Lieutenant Governor remarked that the renaming of the campus serves as a testament to the enduring consciousness ignited by Maharaja Ranbir Singh 150 years ago, which continues to guide the society of Jammu and Kashmir today. Highlighting the Maharaja’s philosophy, Manoj Sinha stated that the visionary leader saw the region as a living entity where culture breathed life into the land and reforms channeled vital energy.
He further observed that the soul of Jammu Kashmir resides not just in its geography, but in the intellectual and spiritual values the Maharaja championed throughout his reign.Turning his focus to the future, the Lieutenant Governor called upon the youth to lead a path of principles to build a safer and more prosperous nation.
He urged the younger generation to embrace expansive, humane values and contribute actively to nation-building, asserting that the newly named campus must reflect the Maharaja’s ideals.
