Jammu 20 December :- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha conducted a high-level review on Saturday to assess the implementation and progress of the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Joined by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Health Secretary Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, and other senior officials, the Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to the national goal of tuberculosis elimination by emphasizing a data-driven approach to treatment outcomes. He directed the Health Department and District Administrations to significantly ramp up testing and prioritize the mapping of vulnerable populations while intensifying door-to-door awareness campaigns to educate the public on symptoms and diagnostics.
The meeting highlighted that J&K has already achieved an impressive 99% coverage of vulnerable populations, reaching over 2.8 million individuals. Furthermore, the Lieutenant Governor called for seamless inter-departmental coordination and the robust implementation of the ‘One Patient – One Ni-kshay Mitra’ model, ensuring that nutritional support through the Nikshay Poshan Yojana and specialized medical care via Ayushman Bharat Golden cards reach every patient in the region.
