Jammu 09 September :- In a significant move to ensure student safety, the Directorate of School Education (DSE) Jammu has issued a strict order making it mandatory for all government and private schools to obtain a valid structural safety certificate from a competent authority before they can resume offline classes.
This directive, issued in continuation of a previous order, explicitly states that no in-person teaching shall commence until this crucial certification is secured. The order mandates that Heads of Institutions (HOIs) and School Management Committees must arrange for a comprehensive safety audit of their school buildings and submit a detailed report to the concerned authorities.

Furthermore, they are required to evaluate their school’s overall preparedness only after the safety certificate has been obtained.
In cases where a school management is confident that their building is structurally sound and does not require an audit, they must furnish a formal undertaking to the Chief Education Officer (CEO) or Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), certifying the building’s complete safety for holding offline classes.
The directive has been widely circulated for implementation and monitoring across the Jammu division, with daily reporting on the status of school buildings ordered.
