Jammu H&P Department Staff Quarters Near Completion; Secretary Avny Lavasa Sets Deadline
JAMMU, March 17, 2026 — Secretary of the Hospitality and Protocol (H&P) Department, Avny Lavasa, conducted a high-level inspection on Monday to review the final stages of the staff quarters construction project located adjacent to the Circuit House on Canal Road, Jammu.
The residential project, valued at ₹3.43 crore, is being developed under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme. During the site visit, it was revealed that the project has reached 95% completion, consisting of 12 modern two-bedroom flats specifically designed for the employees of the H&P department.
Expressing satisfaction with the current pace of work, Secretary Lavasa issued firm directives to the Executive Engineer and the involved executing agencies to ensure both physical and financial completion before the conclusion of the current financial year.
Following the site inspection, the Secretary chaired a comprehensive meeting with departmental officers to address critical administrative matters. The discussions focused on departmental reorganization and human resource issues, with Lavasa emphasizing the need for prompt resolution to streamline operations.
Director H&P and other senior officials were also in attendance to provide updates on the department’s ongoing initiatives.
