Jammu and Kashmir Police Dismiss Female Follower Over Narcotics Case in Baramulla

BARAMULLA, April 09, 2026:- In a decisive move to uphold departmental integrity, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has dismissed a woman follower from service following her involvement in a high-profile narcotics case.

The individual, identified as Shameema Bano, was officially removed from her position effective April 08, 2026, by an order issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Baramulla.

Bano had been under suspension since June 2021 after her arrest by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Jammu for a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act involving the seizure of contraband.

The dismissal followed a comprehensive departmental enquiry that ensured all procedural formalities under the Jammu and Kashmir Police Rules were strictly observed.

According to official statements, the decision underscores the force’s zero-tolerance policy toward illegal activities and drug trafficking.

Baramulla Police reiterated their firm commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and accountability, sending a clear warning that any personnel found engaging in unlawful conduct will face severe disciplinary action to protect the sanctity of the law enforcement agency.
