Jammu 18th August :- In a major administrative decision, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the promotion of five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) with immediate effect.
The promotion, conveyed through Government Order No. 421-Home of 2025 dated 18th August 2025 by the Home Department, was sanctioned by Chandraker Bharti, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government. The promoted officers—Owaise Rashid (KPS125679), Sarfaraz Bashir Ganai (KPS125839), Gh. Mustafa Bhat (KPS125740), Shahzada Kabir Mattoo (KPS125843), and Ashish Gupta (KPS125815)—will now be designated at Level-11 of the Pay Matrix (Rs. 67,700–2,08,700). The promotions followed recommendations by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
