JAMMU, FEBRUARY 03, 2026 – Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs Javed Ahmed Rana conducted a comprehensive review of the Jal Shakti Department’s CAPEX works for the 2025–26 financial year across the Kashmir Division.
During the meeting, which included the Chief Engineer and senior executive officers, the Minister performed a detailed assessment of the physical and financial progress of ongoing Water Supply Schemes (WSS). He issued strict directives to expedite project execution and eliminate administrative bottlenecks, ensuring that all targeted infrastructure goals are met within their stipulated timelines.
Emphasizing the Omar Abdullah-led government’s commitment to strengthening public services, the Minister stressed that transparent execution and high-quality standards are non-negotiable for improving the quality of life for citizens.
He further called for enhanced accountability and regular monitoring at all levels to ensure that these vital water projects successfully meet the aspirations of the people in the Kashmir region.
