ITBP 49 Battalion Organizes Successful Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in Basar

BASAR, March 18, 2026 — In a noble display of social responsibility and humanitarian service, the 49th Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) organized a comprehensive voluntary blood donation camp at its Unit Hospital in Basar.

Conducted in close coordination with the District Hospital, Basar, the initiative aimed to replenish local blood banks and support critical medical requirements within the region. This collaborative effort between the “Himveers” and state health authorities underscores the paramilitary force’s dual role as both a frontier guardian and a community lifesaver, reinforcing the vital bond between security forces and the civilian population of Arunachal Pradesh.

The camp witnessed an enthusiastic response from the troops, with a total of 43 ITBP personnel stepping forward to donate blood. This act of “selfless service” highlights the unwavering commitment of the 49th Battalion to saving lives beyond their primary duty of border security.

Medical officials from the District Hospital praised the donors for their contribution, noting that such organized drives are essential for maintaining emergency medical readiness in remote hilly terrains.

By fostering a culture of voluntary donation, the ITBP continues to lead by example, proving that their dedication to the nation extends into the very veins of the communities they serve.
