Four Drug Peddlers Arrested with Heroin in Rehambal and Majalta
Udhampur, November 06:During traffic checking at Phalata Naka NHW, Police team of PS Rehambal intercepted an Ertiga taxi (JK01BB-9337) coming from Jammu towards Udhampur. On personal frisking, 9.24 gms of heroin was recovered from Rayees Ahmad Rather S/o Mohd. Ramzan Rather R/o Kaloosa, Bandipora and 10.10 gms from Bazil Nazir S/o Nazir Ahmad Lone R/o Nowpora, Bandipora (Both are passengers).
In this regard, A Case FIR No. 186/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at PS Rehambal and investigation taken up.
In another Case Police team of PS Majalta while performing naka checking duty at Battal naka point, intercepted a motorcycle (JK02DL-5407) coming from Manwal towards Battal. On search of the rider Lateef Ali S/o Faqir Ali R/o Jagti Nagrota, District Jammu. Police team recovered 50 gms of heroine along with ₹6100 in cash and 01 weighing machine from his possession.
In this regard, FIR No. 90/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at PS Majalta and investigation is underway.
Yet another case While patrolling near Manwal Gambhir Nallah, Police team of PS Majalta apprehended Sanjay Kumar S/o Subhash Chander R/o Dansal, District Jammu.
During personal search, 10 gms of heroin recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, FIR No. 89/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at PS Majalta and investigation started.
With these arrests, the total number of drug peddlers arrested by Udhampur Police during the current year has reached 160 reaffirming its commitment towards a drug-free Udhampur.
