INS Trikand Arrives in Mauritius to Strengthen Strategic Ties and Celebrate 58th National Day
PORT LOUIS, March 11, 2026 — Marking a significant milestone in regional maritime cooperation, the Indian Navy’s stealth frigate, INS Trikand, arrived at Port Louis, Mauritius, on March 10, 2026, as part of its ongoing operational deployment in the Southwest Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
The visit is a testament to the enduring “Bridges of Friendship” between the two nations, aiming to bolster maritime security and bilateral relations.
During the port call, the Commanding Officer is scheduled to hold high-level discussions with senior government officials and key functionaries of the Mauritius Coast Guard to enhance tactical synergy and mutual cooperation.
The highlights of the visit include the ship’s active participation in the prestigious 58th National Day celebrations of Mauritius. A dedicated marching contingent and a professional naval band from INS Trikand will join the festivities, complemented by a spectacular flypast from the frigate’s integral helicopter.
Beyond the official ceremonies, the crew will engage in a series of cultural, social, and sporting events designed to foster people-to-people ties.
