Infrastructure Boost: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary Lays Foundation for Bathindi Nallah Project
JAMMU, March 12, 2026: In a major move to upgrade urban infrastructure, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary today officially laid the foundation stone for the construction of a concrete slab over the Nallah near Mecca Chowk in Bathindi.
Accompanied by MLA Bahu Constituency, Vikram Randhawa, the Deputy Chief Minister noted that the project fulfills a long-standing demand of the local community, which has faced significant accessibility challenges in the past. The construction is expected to create a more organized space at the busy junction, significantly easing traffic flow and pedestrian movement in the upstream area of the locality.
Addressing a large gathering of residents and members of the Bathindi Development Forum, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that the government is prioritizing the strengthening of civic facilities across Jammu and Kashmir to improve the overall quality of life.
He issued strict directives to Chief Engineer PWD Rajesh Kumar Agastan and other attending officials to ensure the project meets high-quality standards and is completed within the established timeline.
Following the ceremony, residents raised additional local concerns, prompting the Deputy Chief Minister to instruct department heads to process all genuine demands for immediate redressal, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to responsive and transparent governance.
