New Delhi 18 December :- General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), virtually addressed the 3rd Land Forces Summit hosted by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) today, marking a significant step in India’s defense diplomacy. Speaking to an elite assembly of military leaders from Japan, Australia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and the United States, the COAS introduced the innovative ‘IKIGAI’ Framework.
This strategic roadmap is designed to enhance multilateral cooperation and strengthen collective land power across the Indo-Pacific. The framework emphasizes six critical pillars: Interoperability, Knowledge sharing, International humanitarian assistance, Generative technological partnerships, Assurance for security, and Integrated logistics.
During his address, General Dwivedi highlighted that effective regional cooperation must be built upon the three pillars of Shared Diagnosis, Shared Principles, and Shared Actions. He noted that the IKIGAI Framework reflects a unified purpose among Indo-Pacific nations to ensure long-term peace, stability, and prosperity.
By fostering a structured Land Forces Dialogue, the summit serves as a vital platform for deepening army-to-army ties and addressing evolving security challenges. General Dwivedi’s proposal underscores India’s commitment to playing a leading role in regional security through collaborative and technologically advanced military partnerships.
