NEW DELHI, Feb 9, 2026 – The Ministry of Railways has announced a significant milestone in the Wardha-Nagpur 3rd and 4th line project, marking a major leap in the rail infrastructure of the Vidarbha region.
According to an official update shared on X (formerly Twitter), 123.10 km of the total 154.94 km project length has now been successfully commissioned. This progress highlights the government’s commitment to expanding high-capacity corridors to meet growing transit demands.
The completion of this extensive stretch is expected to provide a substantial boost to the regional economy and passenger experience. Key benefits of the newly commissioned lines include the introduction of additional train services and a significant improvement in punctuality by easing congestion on one of the state’s busiest routes.
Furthermore, the enhanced connectivity is set to act as a catalyst for socio-economic development across the Vidarbha region, streamlining the movement of both passengers and essential goods.
