Indian Embassy in Tehran Issues Urgent Safety Advisory for Nationals Amid Escalating Situation
Tehran, April 07, 2026 — The Embassy of India in Tehran has issued a critical security advisory for all Indian nationals currently residing in Iran, urging immediate adherence to safety protocols over the next 48 hours.
Following previous security communications, the Embassy has mandated that all citizens “stay where they are” and remain indoors to mitigate risks associated with the developing regional situation.
The advisory specifically instructs individuals to avoid proximity to electric and military installations and cautions against remaining on the upper floors of multi-storey buildings.
Furthermore, any essential highway movement must be strictly coordinated with the Embassy to ensure safe passage. Indian nationals currently staying in Embassy-hired hotels have been advised to remain on-site while maintaining consistent communication with the embassy teams stationed there.
To ensure public safety, the mission has emphasized the importance of monitoring official updates closely and keeping emergency contact lines open.
For immediate assistance, the Embassy’s emergency mobile numbers (+989128109115, +989128109109, +989128109102, and +989932179359) and official email (cons.tehran@mea.gov.in) remain fully operational.
