Indian Embassy in Doha Issues Urgent Security Advisory Amid Qatar Airspace Closure and Travel Disruptions

DOHA, March 6, 2026 — The Embassy of India in Doha has issued an urgent security advisory for all Indian nationals in Qatar, advising them to strictly adhere to guidelines from the Qatari Ministry of Interior by staying in safe locations, avoiding windows, and limiting movement to extreme necessities due to the current security situation.

With Qatar’s airspace closed and all flight operations temporarily suspended, the Embassy confirmed that Qatar Airways will provide its next update on March 7 at 0900 hrs, while also announcing that the Qatari government has extended all expired or expiring entry visas for one month effective from February 28, 2026.

For those needing to exit, the Salwa land border to Saudi Arabia remains open, where Indian nationals with previously used US, UK, or Schengen visas can obtain a visa on arrival; meanwhile, the Embassy has launched a dedicated registration link to facilitate temporary Saudi transit visas specifically for Indian nationals stranded in transit who have confirmed onward travel from Saudi Arabia.

The Embassy remains available for community welfare through its 24×7 helpline numbers, +974 55647502 and +974 55362508, and via email at cons.doha@mea.gov.in, reminding those seeking transit assistance to allow at least 48 hours for processing.
