Indian Embassy in Doha Issues Major Travel Advisory: Qatar Airways Flights and Transit Support for Nationals

DOHA | March 17, 2026 — In a significant effort to assist Indian nationals amid ongoing regional travel constraints, Qatar Airways operated five non-scheduled flights to India today, transporting approximately 1,600 passengers to Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram. Despite Qatar’s airspace remaining largely closed, the airline has announced plans to expand operations to nine Indian destinations starting tomorrow.

The Indian Embassy has advised travelers that bookings for these limited flights must be managed directly through the Qatar Airways website, mobile app, or authorized travel agents, as the situation remains dynamic.

To further support stranded citizens, the Embassy of India in Doha is actively facilitating temporary transit visas for those opting to return home via the Saudi Arabian land route through the Salwa border.

To ensure uninterrupted assistance, the Embassy has announced it will remain open every day throughout the coming week for essential consular services, including passport issuance.

Furthermore, a 24/7 Control Room remains fully operational, providing round-the-clock support via dedicated helplines, email, and WhatsApp to address any urgent traveler concerns or emergencies.

In addition to travel logistics, the Indian community and the Embassy have partnered to provide humanitarian aid, specifically distributing dry rations to vulnerable Indian fishermen currently in Qatar.

Qatari authorities have reminded the public to rely solely on official instructions and demonstrate social responsibility when sharing information to maintain public safety.

The Indian community is strongly urged to adhere to these official guidelines and cooperate with the Embassy’s ongoing efforts to ensure a safe and organized repatriation process for all.
