KOCHI, April 1, 2026 — In a high-stakes search and rescue (SAR) mission, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully rescued a missing fisherman today following an intense 36-hour coordinated air-sea operation off the Kerala coast.

The fisherman had been reported missing since March 30, 2026, from the Tamil Nadu-registered fishing boat IFB Zion, sparking an immediate large-scale deployment of maritime assets.

The ICG mobilized Ships Arnvesh and C-410, alongside specialized aircraft, to scan vast stretches of the Arabian Sea under challenging conditions to locate the distressed individual.
