Indian Army’s White Knight Corps Engineers Restore Critical Connectivity in Ramban with New Bailey Bridge
Ramban 17 September :- In a swift and commendable response to a natural disruption, the Engineer troops of the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps have successfully constructed a 150-foot Double Storey Extra Wide Bailey Bridge at Maitra in the Ramban district, restoring a vital artery for connectivity and supply in the region.
The urgent need for the bridge arose after a crucial stretch of the Karol-Maitra Road was completely washed away due to recent incessant rainfall that battered the mountainous terrain of Ramban and Reasi districts. The operation was conducted in seamless coordination with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and local civil authorities, showcasing a model of civil-military cooperation in disaster response.
The newly constructed bridge is a significant feat of military engineering—a two-storey, extra-wide Bailey Bridge designed to handle the necessary load and ensure robust and reliable passage. With the completion of this strategic infrastructure project, the vital connectivity between the affected areas has been re-established.
This restoration is paramount for ensuring the smooth and uninterrupted movement of essential supplies, including food and medicine, emergency services such as ambulances and fire trucks, and daily local traffic.
The White Knight Corps, in its official communication on social media platform ‘X’, stated that the bridge will be officially opened for public use after the completion of all necessary technical validations and checks, which will be carried out in concert with the Civil Administration., “We Serve, We Protect!” and
