Indian Army’s Spear Corps Enhances Water Access in Manipur Under Operation Sadbhavna
BISHNUPUR, MANIPUR — March 14, 2026 — In a continuous effort to support local communities and promote rural development, the Red Shield Division under the Spear Corps of the Indian Army has successfully completed a vital water security project in Senpangjar Village, Bishnupur district.
Under the aegis of Operation Sadbhavna, the military unit handed over a newly constructed borewell and a dedicated water storage facility to the village residents. This initiative is designed to provide the local community with reliable access to safe and clean drinking water, significantly reducing the daily hardships faced by families in the region who previously struggled with water scarcity.
The project underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to “Service that Sustains Life,” moving beyond traditional security roles to address the essential infrastructure needs of remote areas in Manipur. By establishing this sustainable water source, the Red Shield Division aims to improve the overall health and hygiene standards of Senpangjar Village while fostering a stronger bond between the armed forces and the civilian population.
Local leaders expressed their gratitude during the handover ceremony, noting that such developmental interventions under Operation Sadbhavna are crucial for the long-term prosperity and stability of the region.
