Indian Army Southern Command Chief Reviews Operational Readiness Along Gujarat’s Western Frontier
NEW DELHI, April 5, 2026 — The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command recently conducted a comprehensive high-level visit to the Bald Eagle Brigade to evaluate the formation’s operational preparedness along the sensitive Western frontier.
During the visit, the Army Commander toured critical forward areas within the Rann of Kutch and the Creek sectors. He received detailed briefings regarding sector-specific operational dynamics, current force deployment strategies, and the progress of vital infrastructure development projects designed to bolster the military’s long-term capability, sustainability, and endurance in these challenging environments.
As part of the assessment, the Army Commander reviewed the Joint Control Centre (JCC) and visited various Border Outposts manned by the Border Security Force (BSF). He expressed high praise for the seamless synergy and integrated cooperation between the Indian Army and BSF India, which remains a cornerstone of border security in the Gujarat sector.
He further commended the formation for its proficiency in executing multi-domain and multi-agency operations across diverse terrains. While interacting with troops stationed in the forward lines, the Commander lauded all ranks for their unwavering professionalism and combat readiness, specifically highlighting the successful infusion of modern technology and mission-oriented initiatives aimed at maintaining a strategic edge in the demanding border landscape.
