New Delhi | January 16, 2026 — In a major step toward enhancing the welfare of the military community, the Indian Army has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mumbai-based Podar Education Network.
This strategic partnership is designed to provide high-quality educational opportunities and financial relief to the children of serving personnel, veterans, and the families of soldiers who have made the supreme sacrifice for the nation.
The agreement underscores the Army’s commitment to ensuring that the families of its braveheart’s receive robust institutional support for their academic future.Under the terms of the MoU, Podar Education Network will implement a comprehensive scholarship program across its 148 schools nationwide.
Specifically, each school will offer a 100% tuition fee scholarship for up to four wards of personnel who died in harness or were declared battle casualties. Additionally, the network has pledged a 50% tuition fee scholarship for up to 10 wards of both serving and retired personnel per school.
This initiative aims to reduce the financial burden on military families while providing access to premier educational facilities.Beyond tuition fee waivers, the support package is designed to be holistic, covering essential academic expenses.
The arrangement includes the provision of books, uniforms, school kits, and a waiver of the one-time admission fee, ensuring a seamless entry into the schooling system for the beneficiaries.
