Bandipora/Srinagar April 10, 2026 :- Reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of local communities, the Indian Army’s Manasbal Rashtriya Rifles Battalion conducted a medical outreach camp titled “Sehat-o-Afiyat” (Health & Well-being) at Rawatpura village in Ajas, a remote mid-ridge region of Bandipora district.
The initiative received an encouraging response, with around 310 villagers, including women, senior citizens, and children, availing medical services. A team of Army doctors, working alongside personnel from the Community Health Centre (CHC), delivered free medical check-ups, diagnostic screenings, and immediate treatment to those in need.
Particular attention was given to women and geriatric care, with female medical staff ensuring ease of access and comfort for patients.
A considerable number of beneficiaries belonged to the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities, many of whom accessed structured healthcare services for the first time.Army personnel also facilitated the smooth organisation of the camp and arranged basic refreshments, highlighting a humane and community-focused approach.
Such initiatives reflect the Indian Army’s sustained efforts towards enhancing healthcare accessibility, fostering goodwill, and building strong bonds with the local populace, especially in far-flung and underserved areas.
