Indian Army launches swift rescue operation after accident on Manali-Leh highway, Airlifts injured to Safety

Leh 11 Aug :-  In a quick humanitarian action, the Indian Army evacuated several injured persons after a civilian car had a serious accident on the Manali-Leh Highway, which is notorious for accidents. The accident in the remote and high-altitude area was followed by instant response from the closest Army unit, which administered first aid and stabilized the injured before flying them to advanced medical facilities in Leh.

As soon as Army personnel based in the vicinity were informed of the accident, they rushed towards the spot to help the victims. In light of the severe condition of some victims and also due to the difficult terrain—where movement by road is slow and dangerous—the Army used two helicopters for medical evacuation of the injured. The victims were safely moved to Leh, where they are undergoing specialized treatment in a military hospital.

Local residents appreciated the Army’s swift response, which averted further complications for the injured person. Leh district administration has also been taking coordination with military functionaries to provide proper treatment to the victims.
