Indian Army Konark Corps Commander Reviews Operational Preparedness in Desert Sector; Emphasizes Atmanirbharta and Innovation

DESERT SECTOR, INDIA March 29,2026— In a major push to ensure high-stakes combat readiness along the western borders, Lieutenant General AVS Rathee, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Konark Corps, personally oversaw a comprehensive review of operational preparedness in the forward areas of the Desert Sector.

The visit highlighted the “Konark Warriors'” continuous efforts to hone their tactical skills, ensuring the Indian Army remains fully prepared for the complexities of the modern, multi-domain battlefield.The review showcased a seamless integration of the Army’s combined arms punch, featuring synchronized maneuvers between Armoured units, Mechanised Infantry, and Artillery.

A significant focus of the visit was the deployment of cutting-edge technology, including advanced Drone and Counter-Drone systems alongside Attack Helicopters.

This synergy reflects the Army’s shifting focus toward high-precision warfare and the integration of niche technologies to maintain an edge in future conflicts.Central to the mission is the spirit of Atmanirbharta (Self-Reliance) and localized innovation.
