Indian Army Investiture Ceremony 2026: General Upendra Dwivedi Honors Gallantry and Excellence in Jaipur

JAIPUR, January 15, 2026 – In a dignified tribute to the spirit of valor and selfless service, the Indian Army conducted its annual Investiture Ceremony at the Sapta Shakti Auditorium within the Jaipur Military Station to mark Army Day 2026.

The event was presided over by General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), who formally recognized the exceptional bravery and distinguished service of individual personnel and collective units.

Highlighting the morning’s honors, 10 Sena Medals for Gallantry were awarded to soldiers for their extraordinary courage in the line of duty, while the “Bravest of the Brave” Unit Award was presented to the 8 Assam Rifles for their consistent operational excellence.

The ceremony also served as a platform to acknowledge organizational efficiency, with Unit Citations presented to 49 units and Unit Appreciations to 34 others. A significant portion of the honors focused on internal excellence and disaster relief, as 26 units received Unit Appreciations specifically for their distinguished performance during Operation SINDOOR.

Expanding the scope of recognition beyond active-duty personnel, General Dwivedi felicitated six veteran achievers and three civilians for their significant contributions to the Army’s mission. This solemn occasion reinforced the Indian Army’s core ethos of “Service Before Self,” celebrating the enduring dedication of its soldiers and the vital support of their families.
