Indian Army Hosts Mega Veterans Samman Sampark Rally in Nagpur to Honor Ex-Servicemen
NAGPUR, March 9, 2026 — Under the aegis of the Southern Command, the Indian Army successfully organized a “Mega Veterans Samman Sampark Rally” in Nagpur, drawing a massive gathering of nearly 3,000 ex-servicemen from seven surrounding districts.
The event was graced by Lt Gen DS Kushwah (PVSM, AVSM, SM), General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa Area, who addressed the veterans and Veer Naris, reaffirming the military’s unwavering commitment to their lifelong welfare.
This significant outreach initiative served as a powerful platform to strengthen the enduring bond between the Indian Army and its retired fraternity, ensuring that those who served the nation continue to feel valued and supported.
The rally was designed as a comprehensive one-stop solution for grievance redressal and essential services, featuring dedicated SPARSH and NAMAN stalls to resolve pension and documentation issues on the spot.
Beyond administrative help, the event provided specialized medical consultations, employment assistance through AWPO and MESCO, and the distribution of mobility aids to veterans in need.
By integrating healthcare, financial transition support, and welfare aid into a single high-impact event, the Southern Command demonstrated a proactive approach to addressing the real-world challenges faced by the veteran community and their families in the region.
