MEERUT, UTTAR PRADESH, Feb 21, 2026 — In a grand effort to foster patriotism and awareness, the Pashchim UP Sub Area, in collaboration with the Pine Division and Ram Division, successfully organized the “Know Your Army Mela” at Kulwant Singh Stadium, Meerut Cantt.
The event saw an overwhelming response, with approximately 4,500 students from 51 schools across Meerut and neighboring regions participating with great fervor.
Designed to bridge the gap between the armed forces and the civilian youth, the mela provided a unique window into the Indian Army’s strategic role, operational capabilities, and the diverse career paths available to the next generation of leaders.
The highlight of the event was a comprehensive static display of cutting-edge military hardware and combat support systems. Students were given a rare, up-close look at infantry weapons, armored platforms, mobile bridging systems, and advanced medical assets, effectively showcasing the Army’s technological evolution.
The atmosphere was further electrified by high-energy demonstrations featuring Army canines, equestrian displays, and a stirring performance by the Army Band. These exhibitions, paired with interactive sessions with serving personnel, allowed students to gain firsthand insights into the values, ethos, and daily life of a soldier, sparking a newfound interest in military service among many attendees.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Pashchim UP Sub Area graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, taking time to interact warmly with the visiting children. In his address, he urged the students to strive for excellence and uphold the core military ideals of discipline, integrity, and dedication.
