Indian Army Conducts Multi-Agency Counter-Drone Training in Tinsukia to Tackle Aerial Threats

TINSUKIA, January 22, 2026 — In a major step toward strengthening military-civil fusion, the Indian Army’s Red Shield Gunners, operating under the Spear Corps, successfully conducted a comprehensive Counter-Drone Capsule in Tinsukia, Assam.

The specialized training program was designed to develop joint preparation and strategic planning against the rapidly evolving security challenges posed by drone technology.

This initiative highlights the increasing necessity of protecting critical infrastructure and maintaining regional security against unauthorized aerial surveillance and potential drone-based attacks.

The exercise saw active participation from a diverse group of stakeholders, including the Assam Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and representatives from the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).

By bringing together security forces and public sector enterprises, the program significantly enhanced operational readiness and fostered seamless inter-agency coordination.

This collaborative approach ensures that both military and civil authorities are better equipped with the tactical knowledge required to detect and neutralize emerging drone threats in the Northeast region.
