Indian Army Conducts Kho-Kho Championship for Youth of Mendhar, Poonch

Poonch 29 November :-As part of the Mendhar Sports Fest 2025, the Bhimber Gali Brigade, under the aegis of Op Sadbhavana, successfully organised a District-Level Kho-Kho Championship for the youth of Mendhar at Government Degree College, Mendhar from 28 – 29 November 2025. The championship was aimed at promoting sportsmanship, strengthening youth engagement and providing a constructive platform for young athletes from remote border areas.

A total of 08 teams from various schools and local institutions of Mendhar Sub-Division participated with immense enthusiasm. The event witnessed spirited contests marked by speed, teamwork and discipline, reflecting the talent and potential of local youth. The participation of a significant number of young girls’ teams added further energy and showcased the rising aspirations and confidence of female athletes in the region.

The championship not only encouraged healthy competition but also served as an opportunity for the youth to channel their energy positively, stay motivated and build camaraderie. The initiative is part of the Indian Army’s continuous efforts to promote sports, education and community development in the border regions of Jammu Division.

The local community expressed heartfelt appreciation for the Indian Army’s unwavering support in organising meaningful youth-centric events. Such initiatives strengthen the Army–Awam bond, fostering trust, empowerment and shared progress.The Felicitation Ceremony for the winners and outstanding participants is scheduled to be held during the Grand Finale of Mendhar Sports Fest 2025 on 11 December 2025, where the best-performing teams and athletes will be honoured.
