Indian Army Boxers Clinch Eight Medals at Asian Boxing Championship 2026 in Mongolia

New Delhi, April 13, 2026: Indian Army boxers have delivered a stellar performance at the Asian Boxing Championship in Mongolia, securing a total of eight medals—comprising three Gold, two Silver, and three Bronze.

Trained at the prestigious Army Sports Institute (ASI) under the Indian Army’s Mission Olympics programme, these athletes showcased the success of the initiative designed to nurture world-class talent for international arenas.

In the men’s division, Vishwanath dominated the 50 kg category to secure Gold, while Sachin earned a Silver in the 60 kg category. The podium finishes were further bolstered by Bronze medals from Akash (75 kg), Lokesh (85 kg), and Narender (+90 kg).The success continued in the women’s events, where the athletes demonstrated exceptional skill and dominance.

Preeti captured the Gold medal in the 54 kg category, and Arundhati clinched Gold in the 70 kg category, while Jasmine added a Silver to the tally in the 57 kg category. This impressive medal haul underscores the high standards of discipline and competitive excellence fostered within the Indian Army’s professional sporting ecosystem.

By consistently producing champions who bring home international honors, the Army Sports Institute and the Mission Olympics programme continue to solidify their reputation as the backbone of elite sports training in India.
