Indian Army Bolsters Veteran Healthcare: GOC Madhya Bharat Area Inaugurates Advanced ECHS Polyclinic in Cuttack

CUTTACK, ODISHA March 29,2026 — In a major step toward “Strengthening the Pillars of Veteran Care,” Lieutenant General Harbinder Singh Vandra, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Madhya Bharat Area, officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Polyclinic in Cuttack.

This new facility marks a significant milestone in the Indian Army’s mission to provide accessible, high-quality healthcare to those who have served the nation with honor. By centralizing medical services, the polyclinic aims to reduce the travel burden on elderly veterans and ensure they receive specialized attention within their home state.

The newly established complex is designed with a patient-centric approach, offering a wide array of medical services under one roof. The facility includes comprehensive outpatient departments (OPD), specialized consultations, advanced diagnostic laboratories, and essential pharmacy support.

These integrated services are specifically tailored to provide timely and efficient medical care to Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris, Veer Matas, and their dependents, ensuring that the military fraternity in Odisha has access to a modern and dignified healthcare environment.The inauguration of the Cuttack Polyclinic reaffirms the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of its retired personnel.
