Indian Army and Police Neutralize 7 Hardcore Terrorists in Massive Kishtwar Joint Operation

KISHTWAR, Feb 23, 2026 — In a major victory for counter-terrorism efforts, the White Knight Corps and Jammu & Kashmir Police (JKP) have successfully dismantled a primary terror cell in the Kishtwar region following a relentless, multi-month pursuit.

In a joint press brief held by Maj Gen APS Bal (GOC, CIF Delta) and B.S. Tuti, IPS (IGP, Jammu Zone), officials detailed the culmination of Operation Trashi-I, which was launched on January 14, 2026.

This high-altitude mission, supported by the CRPF and Assam Rifles, targeted a resilient group led by the notorious commander code-named Saifullah. Despite extreme winter conditions and rugged terrain, security forces maintained a “well-knit” intelligence grid that led to the neutralisation of seven terrorists in total over the recent weeks, including four hardcore operatives in the final stages of the Chhatroo encounter.

The final phase of the operation intensified on the night of February 21, when troops cordoned off a hideout on the steep slopes of a mountain. During the engagement at 11:00 AM on February 22, security forces displayed exceptional tactical precision, utilizing real-time surveillance drones and night vision equipment to prevent any escape.

A standout moment of bravery involved Army-trained dog Tyson, who was injured by terrorist fire while entering a ‘Dhok’ to confirm the enemy’s presence. Despite the heavy exchange of fire, the forces ensured zero casualties among their own personnel.

The search of the site yielded significant war-like stores, including three AK-47 rifles. With six Pakistan-sponsored terrorists eliminated in the last 20 days alone, the White Knight Corps has vowed to sustain this operational momentum to ensure long-term stability in the region.
