PUNE, FEB 8, 2026 — Strengthening international defense ties and technical synergy, two officers from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Army successfully completed a three-day Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) at the College of Military Engineering (CME) in Pune.
Held from February 5 to 7, the exchange centered on the critical domain of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), where experts from both nations analyzed contemporary trends in Improvised Explosive Device (IED) threats and refined EOD training methodologies.
The sessions delved into specialized topics including Post Blast Investigations (PBI) and advanced Counter-IED drills, while emphasizing the integration of forensics and emerging technologies to bolster field efficiency.
This collaborative initiative not only aimed at enhancing tactical interoperability between the two forces but also established a strategic roadmap for future joint cross-training exercises, marking a significant step forward in regional security cooperation.
