India successfully tests Indigenous multi-layered Air Defence System, Boosts National Security

New Delhi 24 August :- In a significant leap forward for India’s defence capabilities, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Posted on social media platform X that the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted the maiden flight test of the Integrated Air Defence Weapon System (IADWS).

The test was conducted on August 23, 2025, at approximately 12:30 PM off the coast of Odisha. Minister Singh described the IADWS as a cutting-edge, multi-layered defence system entirely comprised of indigenous technologies, including the Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile (QRSAM), the Advanced Very Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) missiles, and a high-power laser-based Directed Energy Weapon (DEW).

He extended his congratulations to the DRDO, the Indian Armed Forces, and the associated industry partners for this achievement, stating that this unique test has firmly established India’s multi-layered air-defence capability and will significantly strengthen the area defence of critical national assets against enemy aerial threats.
