“Congress Wants Statehood Back? Remember Who Ruined It First” Pathania Sharp Jab
Udhampur, 11 August – Back from the prestigious National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Summit in Boston, BJP MLA and J&K spokesperson Ranbir Singh Pathania came down heavily on the Congress and INDIA bloc and labeled them “directionless” and wedded to old talk.
Responding to the media in Udhampur, where he was greeted by party workers, Pathania held Congress guilty of hypocrisy in its calls for statehood for Jammu and Kashmir. “Which state is Congress talking about? The one where the Five lakhs Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave, where the Army was attacked, and where terrorism promoted themselves?” he questioned. He claimed that although J&K will become a state again, it will be “a new era of peace and prosperity, not the old J&K of violence and discrimination.”
Pathania also rejected opposition charges of electoral rigging as “desperate excuses after successive defeats. In a dig at Rahul Gandhi, he urged the Leader of Opposition to “excel at constructive politics rather than sensationalism.””As LoP, you need to hold the government accountable on facts, not unsubstantiated allegations,” he stated, recalling Gandhi’s silence following the Air Marshal’s explanation of India’s retaliatory action against Pakistan.
On foreign policy, Pathania highlighted India’s firm stance against terrorism, referencing “Operation Sindoor” as proof of New Delhi’s resolve to “enter enemy territory if needed.” He also criticized recent US tariff hikes on Indian goods as an “attack on our farmers,” but expressed confidence in India’s resilience.
Welcoming international attention to J&K’s evolution, Pathania asserted the BJP’s vision for a “stable, developed statehood”—a stark contrast to the Congress’s “failed legacy.”
