Srinagar, Aug 11 – Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, VK Birdi, on Monday assured that comprehensive security measures and logistical preparations have been finalized for the smooth conduct of Independence Day events across the Kashmir Valley.
During his visit to oversee a rehearsal parade at Partap Park in Srinagar, IGP Birdi stated that multiple security layers will be deployed on August 15, with heightened vigilance at sensitive locations to prevent any disruptions.
“All necessary arrangements, including rigorous drills, have been implemented to ensure a peaceful and incident-free celebration,” Birdi told reporters. He emphasized that security forces are fully prepared to handle any potential challenges.
The police chief urged the public to cooperate with authorities and participate in the national event with enthusiasm while adhering to security protocols.
