IGP Jammu Zone Inaugurates Three-Day Cyber Investigation and Mobile Forensics Training at DPL Jammu
JAMMU, Feb 20, 2026: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, officially inaugurated a specialized three-day training course titled “Cyber Investigation and Mobile Forensics” at the District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu today. Attended by trainees from across all districts of the Jammu Zone and joined by Staff Officer Shamsheer Hussain, the program aims to address the rapid escalation of cyber-enabled offenses in the modern criminal landscape.
During his opening remarks, the IGP emphasized that equipping investigating officers with advanced technical knowledge and legal expertise is now a necessity for the effective handling of digital evidence and to ensure successful prosecution in the face of evolving digital threats.
The curriculum over the next three days is designed to focus on the critical handling and preservation of digital evidence while strictly adhering to legal and procedural safeguards.
Specialized sessions will cover the preparation of digital seizure memos and proper seizure methods intended to withstand rigorous judicial scrutiny. Furthermore, the course will delve into the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023, specifically regarding the admissibility and evidentiary value of electronic records.
Through case studies and practical demonstrations led by expert speakers, the initiative seeks to build institutional capacity and strengthen cyber policing capabilities to tackle emerging threats in a professional and legally sound manner.
