WEST KAMENG, February 6, 2026 — Marking a significant milestone in civil-military synergy, a group of forty IAS Probationary Officers concluded an extensive visit to the forward areas of the Gajraj Corps in the West Kameng sector of Arunachal Pradesh.
Spanning from January 31 to February 5, 2026, the six-day tour provided the young officers with an enriching first-hand exposure to the complexities of soldiering and the rigors of operational life along India’s frontiers.
During the visit, the probationers engaged in close interactions with the soldiers of the Gajraj Corps, gaining valuable insights into the ground realities of maintaining national security in diverse and demanding terrains. The experience highlighted the unique challenges posed by extreme weather conditions and high-altitude geography on the Northern Borders.
Beyond tactical understanding, the program served to enhance their perspective on national security imperatives and fostered a deep sense of mutual respect between the civil administration and the armed forces.
The visit successfully reinforced the spirit of Military-Civil Cooperation, ensuring that the future administrators are well-versed in the logistical and strategic needs of border regions.
By witnessing the dedication of the troops stationed at the frontlines, the probationary officers returned with a strengthened commitment to collaborative governance and a clearer understanding of the vital link between administrative support and border defense.
