IAF Honors Gallant Warriors at Sindoor Shaurya Samman Sammelan at Western Air Command HQ

New Delhi, January 31, 2026: Headquarters Western Air Command hosted the “Sindoor Shaurya Samman Sammelan” today to pay a solemn and prestigious tribute to the gallant Air Warriors whose extraordinary courage and distinguished service have brought immense pride to the Indian Air Force and the nation. The ceremony specifically honored personnel who were recently conferred with Presidential Awards for their conspicuous bravery, exceptional leadership, and selfless devotion to duty. These decorated officers and airmen were recognized for their precise execution and unwavering commitment during demanding operational conditions, particularly during Op Sindoor, where their domain expertise and coordinated joint execution were instrumental in achieving critical mission objectives and demonstrating India’s national resolve.

Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Air Command, presided over the event and engaged in detailed interactions with the awardees. In his keynote address, the Air Marshal commended the awardees for their professional sound judgment under immense pressure and their steadfast resolve in challenging environments. He emphasized that the IAF’s operational excellence is built upon the foundation of rigorous joint training and the indomitable spirit of its personnel. Adding a layer of historical continuity to the event, the decorated warriors also interacted with Air Veterans, who shared invaluable operational wisdom and experiences.
