NEW DELHI, February 11, 2026 — The Indian Air Force (IAF) has commenced a comprehensive joint in-situ air exercise with the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF), marking a significant milestone in bilateral defense relations.
Designed to sharpen tactical prowess, the exercise focuses on enhancing operational coordination and interoperability between the two nations, ensuring both forces can operate seamlessly in complex aerial environments.
The IAF has deployed a formidable fleet for the maneuvers, including the Su-30MKI air superiority fighters, supported by specialized “eyes in the sky” such as the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) and Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platforms.
To extend the mission’s reach, IL-78 aerial refueling aircraft are also participating. On the host side, the RTAF is fielding its JAS 39 Gripen multirole fighters. This collaborative effort not only strengthens Indo-Thai defense cooperation but also fosters greater regional synergy and stability across the Indo-Pacific.
