Srinagar 09 October :- Making a strong statement, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Thursday hoped that the Supreme Court would take deep into consideration the feelings and everyday circumstances of the masses in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir . While reaffirming the people’s unflinching trust in the Indian Constitution and institutions such as the Supreme Court, Choudhary asserted that the court’s ruling must take into account the ground realities of the people.
He particularly pointed out the all-pervasive problem of youth unemployment, adding that almost every family has at least one unemployed member whose dreams for a dignified life have to be heard. The Deputy CM compared the present elected government with the earlier “nominated or selected” rule, raising a basic question on whether the power should lie with people’s representatives. He ended by stating that farmers’, labourers’, and parents’ voices have to be at the heart of all decisions about governance in Jammu and Kashmir since the Supreme Court’s judgment will convey a deep message to its people.
