High-Stakes Maritime Rescue: Indian Coast Guard Executes Life-Saving MEDEVAC Off Kochi Coast

KOCHI February 26, 2026 — Demonstrating elite operational precision, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully executed a time-critical Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) of a critically ill crew member from the vessel MV Onaiza in the deep waters off Kochi Yesterday.

Following an urgent distress signal processed by the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Mumbai, the ICG District Headquarters for Kerala and Mahe immediately mobilized the Interceptor Boat ICG Ship C-410 to intercept the merchant vessel.
