Katra 29 August :- The Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat of Jammu and Kashmir has constituted a high-level three-member committee to investigate the tragic landslide incident that occurred on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji track near Adhkuwari in Reasi district on August 26,2025.
Headed by the Additional Chief Secretary of the Jal Shakti Department, the committee includes the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu and the Inspector General of Police, Jammu. The panel is tasked with examining the causes and potential lapses that led to the incident, evaluating the rescue and relief operations undertaken, and recommending standard operating procedures (SOPs) and measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
The committee has been directed to submit its report within two weeks to the Chairman of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, who is also the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. The order, dated August 29, 2025, was issued by the Special Secretary on behalf of the Chairman.
