High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Marks 77th Republic Day with Historic Celebration in Jammu
JAMMU, January 26, 2026 – The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh celebrated the 77th Republic Day with unprecedented enthusiasm and dignity today at the High Court Complex in Jammu.
Chief Justice Arun Palli unfurled the National Flag to commence the formal proceedings, accompanied by a stirring rendition of the National Anthem by the ceremonial band. The event was characterized by a deep sense of national pride and institutional solidarity, bringing together the judiciary and the legal fraternity to honor the constitutional foundation of the Indian Republic.
The ceremony was attended by a distinguished bench, including Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Justice Sanjay Dhar, Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Justice Rajesh Sekhri, and Justice Sanjay Parihar. This year’s observance marked a historic milestone, recording the largest-ever Republic Day turnout at the High Court.
Dignitaries present included the Secretary of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, Senior Advocates, Deputy Solicitor Generals, and leadership from the High Court Bar Association and Young Lawyers Association.
Registrar General M K Sharma, along with officers of the Registry and judicial officers from the Jammu district, also participated in the celebration.The gathering reflected a powerful collective commitment to upholding the rule of law and the values enshrined in the Constitution. The unity of the Bar, Bench, and Registry throughout the festivities made the occasion both inspiring and memorable.
The event concluded as a vibrant tribute to India’s constitutional ethos, reaffirming the High Court’s dedication to serving the nation and strengthening the legal framework for all citizens.
