Heroic Army K9 ‘Tyson’ Survives Bullet Wound After Flushing Out Terrorists in Kishtwar
JAMMU, February 22, 2026 :- A courageous K9 sniffer dog named Tyson, serving with the Indian Army’s elite Special Forces (SF), played a pivotal role in the successful neutralization of terrorists during the ongoing security operations in Kishtwar.
Acting as the “point” for the assault team, Tyson was the first to confirm the exact location of the hidden terrorists within the treacherous terrain.
During the initial exchange of fire, the brave K9 took a bullet to his leg while advancing ahead of the troops. Despite the sudden injury, Tyson’s persistence allowed the Special Forces to establish firm contact with the targets, ultimately preventing an ambush on the human personnel.
Following his heroic actions, Tyson was immediately extracted from the combat zone and airlifted to a specialized military veterinary facility for emergency surgery.
Army officials have confirmed that the canine tracker is currently in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
This act of bravery highlights the critical role played by highly trained assault dogs in counter-insurgency operations, where their sensory capabilities and courage often provide the decisive edge in saving soldiers’ lives and ensuring the success of the mission.
