Srinagar 03 September :- On night of 03 Sep 2025 overflow of river water along the Jhelum river embankment in gen A Khanibug Village of Lethpora COB 50RR due to persistent and heavy rainfall the water level in the area surged, creating an imminent threat of overflow of water in the region.
The raising water has dangerously breached embankments threatening to inundate the region below.Regular monitoring of the area for possible threat due to Natural Calamities and request from the civil population in the area the personal of Lethpora COB Of 50RR responding to the crisis situation Mobilized it’s resources immediately, coordinating with the civilian volunteers and local authorities launched this full scale flood control measures.
The unit effectively employed personals with Sandbags and construction material to enhance the river embankment in the Khanibug Area ensuring control of the Jhelum river over flow into the low lying area and houses nearby.
The prompt and decisive action of 50 RR Not only ensured safety of civilians and their assets but also played a critical role in mitigating the disaster and preventing further escalating flood like situation.Local population thanked the rescue team for taking risk and leading the work as an immediate response even in the night hours.
