Guneet Kour, Pardeep Singh win gold as veterans display skill and sportsmanship
Jammu, November 6 :- The 2nd Jammu & Kashmir Masters Games, organised by the Jammu & Kashmir Masters Games Association (JKMGA) in affiliation with the Super Masters Games and Sports Federation (India), witnessed the successful conclusion of its chess event at Nek Hotel, Jammu. The matches were conducted under the supervision of Kuljeet Singh, Vice President of the All Jammu and Kashmir Chess Association (AJKCA).
In the Women’s Chess category, Guneet Kour bagged the Gold, while Shikha and Deepshikha secured Silver and Bronze respectively. In the Men’s section, Pardeep Singh claimed Gold, followed by Anil Abrol with Silver and Narinder Sharma with Bronze.
Baldev Raj, President of the All Jammu and Kashmir Chess Association, congratulated the winners and thanked JKMGA for promoting competitive sports among veteran athletes.
JKMGA President and veteran international handball player Ranjeet Singh Chib, along with General Secretary Neete Kour Khlasa, lauded the participants for their enthusiasm and underscored the importance of sports participation among masters.
“Sports not only contribute to physical well-being but also instill values of teamwork, discipline, and resilience,” Chib said, adding that the association is committed to expanding opportunities for athletes of all ages.
While the chess event concluded successfully, other competitions under the 2nd J&K Masters Games are continuing across various venues in Jammu, showcasing the region’s growing sporting spirit.
