Gulmarg Ready for Khelo India Winter Games 2026: DC Baramulla Finalizes High-Level Arrangements
GULMARG, Feb 21: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today conducted a final, comprehensive inspection of venues across Gulmarg to ensure the seamless execution of the 6th edition of the Khelo India Winter Games.
Accompanied by a high-level delegation from the sports, tourism, health, and police departments, the DC visited the Gulmarg Golf Club and various competition sites to verify that international-standard infrastructure and athlete accommodations are fully operational. With the prestigious national event set to kick off on February 23, the administration has shifted into high gear to cement Gulmarg’s reputation as India’s premier winter sports destination.
During a specialized review meeting at the Golf Club, DC Sherpa meticulously evaluated logistics ranging from emergency medical response mechanisms and sanitation to uninterrupted power and water supply. He issued strict directives to all line departments to maintain the highest standards of hospitality and professionalism, emphasizing that hosting the games is a significant matter of regional pride.
The inspection also covered robust transportation plans and security protocols designed to handle the influx of athletes and tourists.
